The By-Pass Auto Body company had a humble beginning in 1970 as Ron Bitschenauer began fixing cars in the garage at his home. After a few years, Ron took his love of cars and automotive knowledge and decided to expand his repair business outside the family garage. He launched his collision repair center in 1971 out of the old Capital Trade School on Bypass 66. The business then moved to Browning Road for a short time before coming to its permanent location on Clear Lake Avenue in 1976. Ron and wife Mary operated By-Pass until 1998 when the business was sold to their sons Bob and Bill. The brothers have kept By-Pass running smoothly for over 19 years with their wives by their sides: Lori, Secretary, and Kim, Treasurer.
